Gold Mine™ tops the gain spectrum with soaring, smooth high gain that tips the hat to Boogie, but also includes a harmonic edge that’s borderline Brit in character. Not that you can’t dial gain back for sweet, subtle overdrive—you can—but the true character emerges as gain goes up and heavier saturation begins. Up there, a violin-like quality infuses single notes with saturation that blends attack and sustain with near perfection in pedal form, while keeping the emotion in your playing at the forefront of the mix.
Progressing along the gain spectrum, the transparent boost/overdrive CLEO™ is joined by the vintage inspired, medium gain DYNAPLEX™ and the higher gain GOLD MINE™.

Gold Mine™ features a hidden TIGHT switch on the circuit board accessible from the bottom under the removable Lid that offers a tucked-up, tighter-tracking low end. When engaged, the bass response is trimmed back and the sound is tailored more toward rhythm playing and solo work that requires faster, more accurate tracking of the pick attack.
Like each and every MESA product, these pedals are built using the same quality components and craftsmanship and are filled with the inspiring performance found in our custom amplifiers, all of which are hand-built in our only Shop in Petaluma California, USA—the Home of Tone®!
Controls
LEVEL is the master output level and it controls the amount of signal provided to the host amplifier. GAIN determines the amount of gain (overdrive) in the signal path. BASS works in tandem with the TREBLE control to adjust low frequencies. MID increases or decreases the amount of midrange frequencies. TREBLE adjusts the amount of high frequencies present in the mix and – unlike devices with just a TONE control - allows you to fine tune the high frequencies separately from the low frequencies.
