At the root of The Jayhawks’ sound is founding member Marc Perlman’s melodic bass lines. No matter if leaning towards the band’s familiar country-rock sound or a pop persona with hints of Beatles-esque psychedelia or a Stones-ish rock rampage, Marc lays each song’s foundation with the perfect parts, fitting right into the pocket.
Joining the MESA family in 2016, making the Subway D-800 and a pair of Subway 2x12 cabs his main rig, the small footprint and big tone perfect for the band’s tour in support of their 9th studio album ‘Paging Mr. Proust’. When the rig arrived, Marc jokingly shared that his Subway D-800 was the loudest and lightest amp on the stage.
Two albums later, the band sounds as great as ever. Their latest release ‘XOXO’ is a compilation of well-crafted, catchy songs with each member of the band claiming songwriting credits
