The MESA/Boogie® Triple Crown™ TC-50™ for Modern Metal featuring John Browne
The MESA/Boogie® Triple Crown™ TC-50™ continues to receive rave reviews from Rock players and many of you have asked for more examples of the TC-50’s voice for modern metal. Who better than John Browne to give you a taste of just what the Triple Crown can deliver via this new 50 Watt three channel platform. Designed for versatility, Channel 1 provides tight, sparkling, high-headroom clean sounds and is perfect for players seeking pristine cleans that remain brilliant and clean to even the highest output pickups and heavy handed attack. The gain channels offer the full range of purring and stinging overdrive at lower Gain settings while also offering legitimate classic crunch and vintage high gain sounds in channel 2 and unleashing massive and unique Modern gain & saturation in channel 3.
John shared some thoughts on his first experiences playing the TC-50 at the Mesa® factory earlier in the week and he discussed his impressions of how well the Triple Crown works in modern high gain and metal styles.
John’s down picking style extracts impressive amounts of gain, saturation and punch from Channel 3 for rhythm sounds – all with fairly low Gain settings.
Channel 2 was used for the more vocal single note tapping and lead lines woven throughout the song.
Mesa Artist John Browne was one of the first people outside of the Mesa R & D team to play the Triple Crown TC-50. Here’s the full instrumental playthrough of “Fruit of the Poisonous Tree” from John’s upcoming Flux Conduct solo album called Yetzer Hara that showcases John’s percussive attack and the Triple Crown’s detail and dynamic high gain.
