Dear Mesa/Boogie, My first Mesa/Boogie purchased was a Subway Rocket. There was something magical about those EL-84 power tubes. Not only did the amp produce a lovely solo tone, for the first time I was able too feel the tone. Perhaps it was just the goose bumps on my arm. Nevertheless, this little Boogie became my secret weapon during recording sessions. After owning this amp for 6 months or so, I knew I needed more power. After auditioning amps by other manufacturers, I came back to Boogie by purchasing a Dual Rectifier Solo head and a Recto cabinet. Hearing the Dual Recto in action is one thing but feeling this amps low growl is another thing. As the tone hits you hard in the chest, you can feel your heart begin to vibrate. Recently, I began to experiment with cleaner tones. Knowing Mesa/Boogie could deliver, I purchased an F-30 head. Not only did I get an amp with a lead channel similar to my Subway Rocket, I got an amp with the best clean channel on the market. From single coil guitars to humbucker equipped guitars, this amp delivers a huge clean tone with headroom to spare. Once again, not only does this Mesa sound great, you can feel the thick rich tones surround your body. I must admit, I have been playing Mesa/Boogie amps exclusively since 1995. Not one of my many Boogies ever broke down and every time I plug in, I am rewarded with years of Mesa research. You can feel the labor of love the Boogie team puts into these amps. Not one detail is overlooked. I refer to it as the Mesa Mystique. Mesa Mojo. Speaking of mojo, how can any serious guitar player not plug in to the Lonestar? Not only does this amp come in priced half of other amps in this field, it delivers that Austin vibe. Great tone is what we strive for as guitarist. With a Boogie backline, you can rest assured knowing you will sound great day after day. But what makes playing Boogies so special is the reward of feeling the tone. That alone will keep me loyal to Mesa/Boogie for as long as I play. Mark Stys See our Mesa Product Review & Customer Testimonial Section
